HOW TO USE
Delicious Black Bean Soup:
Cook soaked BLACK BEANS with 5 cups water, bay leaves and salt for 1 1/2 hrs until tender(great without meat, but organic ham hock for traditional recipe).
When cooked remove hock keeping only the meat.
In a pan cook onion, celery, sweet potato for 15 minutes.
Add cumin, chilli, garlic and cook 2 minutes.
Add to beans (and liquid), add 2 cups stock, 1 tablespoon molasses and a bell pepper, cook 20 minutes.
Remove and blend half soup. Mix.
Serve with lime juice.
Soups and Stews
Simply add these black beans to your favourite soups and stews for a meatier flavour and texture.
Burgers and Loafs
Use alone or combine with other beans.
Add a diced onion.
Put in a chopped Garlic or some Dried garlic.
Add your favourite herbs. Dried Herbs are easy and add great taste or add finely chopped fresh herbs for freshness freshness. Try parsley,mint, basil, coriander or thyme, really any herb you want.
Add a grated carrot or zucchini for added nutrition if you like.
to create delicious bean patties and loafs. The mushroomy flavour of these beans add great taste when used this way. Do not overcook the beans as a little texture in the beans gives a good feel in these types of uses
